Medical Fund Project Description This is the only UK charity working to support the emotional and practical needs of British citizens detained abroad and their families who receive no statutory support to help their predicament. We have given the grant towards their ‘Medical Fund’ providing one off grants for essential medical treatment that is not covered by the prison. It includes payments for one-off treatments, such as emergency operations, and also ongoing treatment where necessary. Payments are provided for a wide variety of health issues, including inhalers for asthma sufferers, essential dental treatment, eye tests and glasses, and medication for conditions such as heart disease or mental illness. |
