Project Description
For the past five years, IWCT (now under the name of AKF in the Philippines) has employed six local people fulltime to investigate and prepare charges against those employed in this illegal activity. Once the evidence has been gathered, it is reported to the police and a complaint by AKF is then made. This results in members of their crew accompanying the police in raiding the illegal premises where the dogs are kept in appalling conditions. The police arrest the offenders and charge them with violating the animal welfare act and the confiscated dogs are passed over into their care.

We are pleased to continue our support for the never-ending work of the colleagues at IWCT and AKF in working hard to stop the cruel dog meat trade for human consumption in the Philippines.  We are supporting their brand new rescue-rehabilitation centre which will offer a future for the dogs including an adoption scheme.
