Since we began the Generic Research Projects (G.R.P.s) in 1997 we have been constantly developing the structure to maximise the resources that we have available to us. We currently have eight active G.R.P. groups covering an array of areas of interest to our trustees and colleagues.
We are delighted to be working in close partnership with many charities and organisations and look forward to developing unique and innovative projects over the coming months both in-house and externally.

Our TapeSense service has grown to over 2,500 customers, supplying at subsidised prices not only tapes, but also minidisks, headphones, cables, batteries, digital radios and other accessories that are of use to our visually impaired customers or organisations that support them.

The Storytelling Tour project has now been extended to include groups of varying disability and not only visually impaired persons’ groups and provides hundreds of hours of enjoyment to the clients receiving the service.

Our plan is to carry on supporting the excellent work achieved by charities locally, nationally and internationally in small but hopefully effective ways.
Some of the many projects we’re currently working on include;

  • A small but highly effective charity which rescues dogs from appalling cruelty in the Philippines.
  • A simple idea with huge health benefits which provides a flue to remove damaging cooking smoke from the home in developing countries.
  • An information kiosk for immediate access by homeless people arriving at central London train stations.
  • Supporting literate prisoners to teach fellow prisoners to read in prisons within the UK.
